To sum it up, having great SEO will get your listings and your brokerage firm noticed by more buyers searching online due to the higher level of placement it will receive on the results page of a search engine such as Google. Having a video on YouTube for example will dramatically increase your search engine relevance. Click here to learn why.
Lesson 2: How search engines determine ranking
Search engines determine where your Web site will rank in searches based on these key factors:
  1. The quality and quantity of inbound links By inbound links we mean the number of sites that point to your Web site as an authoritative site on a particular subject (i.e. real estate in your area). If it is a high traffic, relevant Web site that points to you, you are giving a higher value in the organic search results.

  2. The relevancy of your Web site The relevancy of your Web site in relation to a particular topic is a big factor in having effective search engine optimization. For example, if you are THE person to call for real estate in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago, your website should have keywords and content (both written and visual) that directly relate to real estate in Lincoln Park. The more specific you can be, the better.
